Chapter Six

Sasha and her guys had just settled into their hotel room, which was connected to Alec and Rhea’s suite, when a knock sounded on the door. Sasha locked gazes with Tanner briefly before glancing at Jon. Both males went into protector mode as they went to the door. Tanner jerked it open.

Alec and Rhea stood on the other side. Alec had a brow raised and a smirk. “Jumpy?”

Tanner grunted in response and stepped aside to let the leopard Marshal and his mate come in. Just as Tanner closed the door, Brenna, Bryce, and Nigel rushed inside. Bryce grinned. “We got distracted by the game room.”

Sasha laughed. “There’s a game room?”

Rhea shook her head and sat on the end of one of the queen size beds. “It’s part of the lobby. It has a couple games consoles and TVs, plus several arcade style games. I knew when the twins saw it, they make a detour and drag Nigel with them.”

Brenna shrugged and dropped down on the bed behind Rhea. Bryce walked around to the other side and sat down. Nigel sat behind Brenna.

Sasha agreed with Rhea. The teens would be drawn to the games. But even though, they checked it out, they didn’t abandon their mission. Then again, the three of them weren’t your average teens.

Alec sat at the small table next to the balcony door and opened his laptop. “Torin and Kirk will be flying in later tonight. While we wait, we are to meet with the Alpha of the local Pack within the hour. I would rather be able to rest after the long flight, but it’s his territory, his rules.”

Sasha sensed tension coming from Tanner and Alec. It was like they picked up on something she hadn’t. “Why do I get the impression that you are leery about this Alpha?”

With a frown, Alec opened a file on his laptop. “The Pack name is Wilde Wolves. Wilde being the Alpha’s last name. The Alpha is Kasen Wilde. He’s powerful and many find him difficult to work with. I dug more into why and when I couldn’t find anything, I asked Donovan and Ryker if they heard of him before. Ryker said he had dealt with Kasen a number of times for personal reasons that he wouldn’t go into. But Ryker said Kasen can be feral and is highly protective of his Pack. He doesn’t follow anyone’s rules except for his own and there aren’t very many of them.”

Sasha didn’t know Donovan and Ryker, but she knew of them. Donovan was the Blackrock Bears Elder and Ryker was a puma and the Crimson Stone Pride Elder. Both were on the council.

Tanner relaxed in the chair across from Alec. “So, it’s no different than dealing with Keegan.”

A chuckle escaped Alec and he nodded. “Exactly. We just need to stay on alert and not give Kasen any reason to distrust us. After all we are only here to get our own Alpha back. Kasen will not come alone, we expect that.
